This, dear friends, is a bittersweet night in the course of my Easter holidays 2010.
This is the last night that I will spend in the Robins household for quite some time (I refuse to say or think ever). Again, it's quite late, and I am getting sick (boo hooo!! I woke up with a sore throat and it's been getting worse all day! :( I should have brought my vitamins...), so this will be short again.
I had the nicest wake up call today -- a little knock on the door, and then 2 little visitors peeking around the corner at me -- Anna and Heidi's 2 little cousins (second cousins??), Malaika and Ayana, aged 6 and 4, respectively. Their Auntie Jackie had brought them over in the morning, and Heidi and I went with the 3 of them on an adorable train to Barnstaple (nearrrrly missed it -- had to the town. Anna didn't come because she stayed home like the diligent student she is to work on her dissertation.
Let me just say, those 2 girls are SO ADORABLE, I can't get over it! They were just go-go-go, all day -- laughing (and crying....), skipping and jumping and everything!

After we got back, we hung out a bit here, had a mini birthday celebration for Bev's birthday today, and then headed off to their Aunti Jackie's for supper. Malaika and Ayana were there, too, and we had a good laugh with them before they went off too bed -- my favourite was when Ayana walked by the door and was doing the motions as she said in a monotone voice, "I....am....a....robot...I....am.....a.........robot!"
Now its 3am again and I'm laughing my arse off again (we talked to a guy on facebook who's name was "Fatih Balls"....enough said).
I am so so so so soooo sad to be leaving tomorrow...I can't even explain! It's so beautiful here and the Robins family is SO NICE -- I know I've said it before, but they really just have welcomed me with open arms, completely and utterly. I can't thank them enough, and I can't wait to see them again -- which I'm convinced won't be in the too distant future :) . I feel like I've really experienced a good chunk of Devon while I've been here -- and I couldn't have done it alas, I must continue my journey -- I can't way I'm not excited for what's to come!! My next post will come to you from Scotland or maybe even Ireland...
Until then,
Beckers

Seriously, how cute was that train? SO tiny! Only 2 cars!! :)
and #2: yet another reason why I love the English...look at this, it's a legitimate political party...the name should already give away the kinds of things they stand for, but please look at the link for a good laugh...
P.S. I thought of 2 more things to add:
#1: I only JUST found out that V for Vendetta is based on Guy Fawkes. Call me stupid, but I just never caught on. Fair enough, I didn't even KNOW about Guy Fawkes until I came to the UK, but I should have realized sooner...or at the very least, paid more attention in the film..
