Easter Hols - Day 7

I can't believe I've been on holidays for 7 days.

I also can't believe that is is 3:42am and I am wired.

That is probably due to 3 things:
1. my 4th cup of tea today
2. having chocolate (and lots of it) for the first time in 40 days (unless you count my unfortunate hot chocolate incident)
3. the past 2 hours spent laughing so hard I almost peed myself. -- happiness = giddiness = wiredness/inability to sleep

I still can't believe how well the 3 of us get on. I was saying today, I feel like they're my cousins who I hardly ever get to see. That's the perfect way of explaining the relationship, really.

Oh gosh, and tonight, just sitting there and laughing so hard that my face hurt; laughing so hard that I actually had to pee because of it; so hard that I felt like I was going to choke; so hard that I was shaking uncontrollably...that was freakin' amazing.

It was all about the accent differences. I mean, it might not sound funny now reading this, but when I hear someone say something in an English accent and then try to mock it, it's incredible how hard it is to make my mouth create different vowel sounds. I could usually hear the differences in the vowels, but to get my mouth to produce the same sound was  soooo frustratingly difficult -- I felt like I was learning to talk again!

Funny thing is, when I sit up properly and kind of cock my head to one side and pretend like I'm having tea with the Queen or something, my English accent is quite good (according to the Robins girls)--and apparently, quite posh, at that! I've learned how to say a few things with proper English pronunciations, and some things are really just hard to say like they do. Right now I'm stuck on "roll".

Anywayyyy. I MUST get to sleep, because we have a long day tomorrow, but I will just pop up some pics from today.
We woke up earlyish, went to a church service in the morning, then went to an amazing and filling carvery lunch at a pub (in a village called Black Dog -- made me miss Kelly!!), and then met Bev's hilarious brother and sister, Phil and Trish, (Phil is quite the character!) for cream tea in Dunsford, went to another church service in the evening, and then spent the night eating chocolate and cheese (yesssss!) and I taught them how to play cribbage!
I didn't take many pics because 1) I didn't want to take pictures in a church since I see it as a place for prayer, not pictures. It was adorable and tiny, though -- probably about 30 people there, and all SO kind; and 2) I just wanted to enjoy being there instead of worried about taking pictures every 10 seconds. Anyway, future me may resent present me for that, but that's a risk I'm willing to take.

I just needed to take some time and take it all in.

Dunsford, where we had cream tea. Below that, some random castle with an English flag, and a hilarious sign inside the Walled Garden Tea Rooms.

This is the place we had cream tea -- a bit expensive, but so yummy!!
One of the many adorable tables set outside (notice the sun!!) for people to sit and enjoy their cream tea. Also, a stereotypical English telephone booth. Through the car window, hence the blur. I don't know, I just felt like I should be somewhat touristy...
I love it here.
I just love, love, LOVE. IT. HERE.
Best Easter I've had in years.

And now I can kind of speak with a posh English accent. If nothing else, I can at least say "banana" with an English accent.
Wiiiiiiin!

Until Next Time,

Beckers
