Well, here's the latest:

1) I'm sicker than a dog (and to clarify: the very sick, sick, kind of dog). Haven't had a proper voice for about 5 days now. Didn't think teaching my nuts-o class could get any tougher...until I realized I couldn't talk to them.

2)  After a week of calls and horrible surprises, my car was a write-off. Turns out what appeared to be a minor fender bender actually wrecked the entire bottom of that side of the car. Turns out I damaged the front engine cradle, the front subframe that holds the engine in place AND the radiator support, AND totally screwed the front right suspension.  I'm not sure if any of that made sense, I'm just repeating what the adjustor told me. Coming from someone who doesn't know much about cars, I'm going to go ahead and assume that if the engine isn't being held in place, that's a pretty major flaw. I went to collect my belongings from it at the compound behind the auto repair shop yesterday...it was a sad goodbye. When I explained to the lady serving me that it was a sad day, she empathized
"Oh, I'm sorry dear. Had you had the car a long time?"
"....3 months" I sobbed.

3) The insurance guy who's dealing with my case is TOTALLY MIA. Which means I don't know how much I'll get for it, what I'm supposed to do in the meantime, what to tell the auto shop, how to get a rental, etc. I called rental places and was only able to get into a rental on Thursday, almost an entire week after the 'collision'. Apparently it's "accident season" so they had no more cars to give out until Thursday. Yikes!

Well, let's just hope that bad things come in 3s. That's a thing, right?  Kind of like how Michael Jackson, Ferrah Fawcet and Ed McMahon died really close together? Of the 3, I'd say my voice and appearance look closest to Michael Jackson; my car was as beautiful as Ferrah Fawcett, and I don't know anything about either Ed McMahon or my insurance guy.

There is a silver lining, though. The Enterprise guy that came to pick me up for my car rental was super cute! Not only that, but an Eastern Canadian AND a musician, to boot! Since my voice was a (non-sexy) husky/squeaky version of my normal one, and my nose was all stuffed up, I'm sure I wasn't much of a charmer. But mark my words, if I had a voice, I'm almost sure I would have, you know, flirted...or something.  You know, since I'm such a natural.  Another good thing is that the car I have is so nice (a Mazda 3) - which I'm sure is more than I can afford for an actual purchase...so I'm happy in the meantime waiting for insurance stuff to go through.

Lastly, tonight is closing night of the musical! It's getting better and better every show, I can't wait! That is, assuming I can make it through the entire production without keeling over.  Here's hoping I make it to the cast party.

What kind of medicine can you take with alcohol??

Until Next Time,
B.
