BREAKING NEWS!

I know I promised my next post would be about teaching in Alberta to help those who are interested in following my [meandering, staggering, yet somehow still progressing] footsteps...but I have to defer. This news is too urgent and exciting not to share!

*ahem*

Transport yourself, if you will, back to when you were 13.

Now, recall your favourite band of the time.

Now, imagine you check online and discover they are coming to your (fairly small) city.

And you saved up every penny to buy a ticket. Even VIP.

The date is coming closer, about a month away now; and excitement is growing each day.

Now, imagine you just found out that you not only get to meet them, but you get to sing with them. ONSTAGE. For an audience.

*sigh* What a dream that would be, eh?

Well, I am here today to proudly announce that IT IS A DREAM COME TRUE for members of my extra-curricular choir at Derek Taylor school. They have recently prepared for, auditioned, and were selected to perform with their heartthrob/idols, Mariana's Trench in their upcoming tour stop in Grande Prairie. What an incredible idea for them to reach out to local choirs and allow these students a once-in-a-lifetime chance to experience their favourite musicians like never before. :) I can't stop smiling for them!!

I feel like such a proud mama, I can't even put it into words. They were so worried that they weren't good enough or they wouldn't be able to make it; I can't even explain how awesome this will be for them!  

So cheers to Good News Mondays; students excited about music; and an exciting life event for this amazing group of young girls. Take that as a lesson in believing in yourself!
