Neeps and Tatties

Today was Saint Andrew's Day (St. Andrew is the patron saint of Scotland...apparently he saved the country from snakes or something? Or maybe that was a sarcastic story that someone told me that I didn't catch onto?

Anyway, in celebration of this day, we had a traditional scottish lunch. I don't think I've shared my love of skirlies with you yet, but let me tell you, they are wonderful! I also had a DELICIOUS scotch broth, some mince, and neeps and tatties (turnip and potatoes). The lady serving me asked if I wanted neeps or carrots, so of course I chose neeps....not only because neeps and tatties are traditionally eaten together, but because "neeps" is just a fun word to say!

Other than that, I also went to the gym today, but was SO SO SO tired.

Highlight of the day goes to receiving an unexpected package from Amanda Pulling! Hooray! Nothing makes me as happy as getting cool mail! And not only did I get a card, but a TIM HORTON'S CHRISTMAS DECORATION! Honestly. How can it get better? Canada, Tim Hortons, and Christmas. That girl is a genius.

Anyway. I'm going for a nap and then off to practice...I've been neglecting my trombone this weekend and it's calling my name! Speaking of trombones and names, I need to name my trombone. Although, I'm thinking of upgrading soon. Still, though. I think it'd be funny. Any suggestions are welcome.

I'm also SUPER excited because tomorrow is December! YAY! That means I'm coming home soon! I never thought I'd say it, but I miss home! I miss pancakes and toaster strudels and Tim Hortons and a million other things that I can't wait for! OH, and my mom sent me an advent calendar all the way from Canada, so I'm SUPER stoked to start that tomorrow tooooo! :)

Until next time,

Beckers
